Our office is equipped with a monitor screen which is connected to the four cameras that had been placed around the compound. This meant that we could see most of the site from the comfort of .our office. These pictures are also relayed to a video recorder which is in the Managers office next door to ours. One camera had been placed by the
pond. This area is strangely dark except for one small spotlight, mentioned earlier,
that is totally useless. The rest of the cameras are positioned as follows:.
- Camera 1 - The Estate's Main Gate.
- Camera 2 - Is the left entrance and frontal view of the ''Toilet Block''
- Camera 3 - Is at the end of our office building. There is also "the" halogen light which is positioned opposite this camera.
- Camera 4 - Is the side view of the toilet block looking down towards unit's 31-34.
We work a 10 hour shift, and every two hours we are required to patrol the whole site on foot but you are not alone, not only do you get the feeling you are being watched, but you can actually hear footsteps walking right behind you . We did our first patrol at 9pm. Everything was normal All of the estates staff had left by 8.45pm, so we were totally alone..
The Nightmare Begins
We had just sat down to take our first break, it was 10pm, when Lynn, who had just
taken a sip of her coffee, began coughing and spluttering, pointing frantically at the
screen. Camera 4, which is the side view of the toilet block, was showing the wall light at the far end had become bigger than when we first arrived and seemed to be changing shape. As usual I had my camcorder with me, I positioned it in front of the monitor screen for the duration of our shift, stopping it only to put in new tapes.
After about ten minutes, Brenden drew our attention to Camera 2. On taking a closer look we realised that an image was forming, this image was hovering above the toilet block. It was the head and shoulders of a young man, he was smiling but it wasn't a normal smile, it was as though he new we were watching him, it made our hair stand on end.. After about thirty minutes it began to disappear. We couldn't believe what we had just seen
We didn't have time to pause for breath because Camera 3 was now showing us something even more frightening. The halogen wall light had grown to an enormous size, then suddenly the whole light split in two, the bottom half was suspended in mid air and seemed to be pulsating, then a thin strip of light popped out over the top and was extending downwards, it was forming a distinct shape, a snake, you could see its head very clearly. From this new light an extraordinary thing was happening. There appeared to be something moving inside it, and it looked as though it was trying to break out. This went on for over an hour, then it began to fade. We were both horrified and fascinated by what we'd just seen.
The Site Check
Having sat there in a daze for a short while, we had failed to notice what was
happening on Camera 2, that light we had first noticed growing at 10pm, was
now enormous and its shape was rapidly becoming distinguishable, it was, what we
can only describe as a ''malformed skull,'' it was hideous. By this time I was more
angry than frightened as I was beginning to think that someone was playing a practical
joke on us, so we decided to go out and check the cameras. We checked all four but
there was nothing to see, whatever was showing up on our monitor screen was not
showing up in reality or to the naked eye.
As we were already outside, we decided that it would be advisable to do a site check, a quick one. We were just passing the units at the far end, near the orchard, when we
noticed the door to unit fourteen, was open. We stopped the van, as we did so, the unit door slammed shut, we quickly drove on. The office was just around the next corner. You have to pass a old rusty gate that was once a side entrance. As we turned we got the shock of our lives, standing by this gate was a figure, it was wearing a grey cloak with a hood, the kind a monk would wear. He was about 6ft in height and even though we couldn't see a face, we could sense that he was looking straight at us.. Brenden looked back and saw it ''evaporate'' into thin air. It was now time to get off this site.
