Last January 2003, I attended a Bible study with friends near Chiang Kai Shek College. I missed some of the topics discussed because I did not attend the bible study regularly due to my numerous assignments and projects in school. I met our guest speaker, Miss Virginia Lorenzo, who is known for Gingging by her friends and colleagues. It is obviously that she has disabilities. Her set of fingers is incomplete, and she lacks two pairs of legs. It was resulted from the abortion pills that her mom took upon the pregnancy period.
Despite of her disabilities, she managed to finish her studies. She is graduated at San Pedro College of Business Administration with the Bachelor Degree of Business Management. Her tuition fees is financed by few friends, co-members of her church.
She also finished a two-year course of Computer Programming at STI- Alabang. She was able to achieve a half-scholarship from that school at that time. Half of her tuition fees is paid by Ptr. Aldrin Munoz and Ptr. Jeanette Yu of United Evangelical Church of the Philippines, Mrs. Betty, and Mrs. Elvie Sison, the administrator of STI-Alabang.
She is currently working as a volunteer minister for Children Ministry and Single Fellowship. In the year 1999 to 2001, she was teaching Christian Living at Maranata Living Hope Academy. Every blessing is counted for her, and she always thank God for the graces she received.
Her aunt is the one who raised her when her mother gave her up for adoption. Her aunt encouraged her to become strong and courageous when trials come to her life. Her father is currently living with his family at Caloocan City, while her mother is living at Australia with her family. She said that she already forgave her parents on giving up on her, and she believes that God has a purpose for her.
At San Pedro High School, she received recognition award for Most Persevering Student. I believed that she deserves that award because she perseveres in times of trials.
