English rock singer, song writer and guitarist, Marc Bolan, was killed in a car accident in 1977. The driver of the purple Mini was Gloria Jones. The funeral was attended by celebrities like David Bowie and Rod Stewart.

James Dean died in his black and white 1950 Ford Custom Tudor Coupe on September 30th 1955, at Salinas, California. There were conflicting reports at the time and experts have disagreed since on whether or not Dean was speeding and which side of the road he was on.
Isadora Duncan

Dancer Isadora Duncan was well known for the flowing garments that she always wore. It was this personal style of dress that caused the freak accident that killed her in 1927. On that last night she wore a very long hand-painted scarf that wrapped all the way around her body. The end of it was left loose to flutter in the wind. It was so long that it became entangled in the spokes of the wheels of the 1924 Amilcar. Isadora died at the scene.
Jackson Pollock

American painter Jackson Pollock died in a single car crash, in 1956. The car was an Oldsmobile convertible driven by Pollock. His is buried in Green River Cemetery and a large boulder marks the spot. Beside him is a smaller boulder to mark the resting place of the passenger who was also killed.
Margaret Mitchell

American writer, Margaret Mitchell, who wrote "Gone With The Wind", was knocked down and killed by a speeding vehicle in 1949. The driver of the vehicle was an off-duty taxi driver who already had a number of convictions for traffic violations. He was imprisoned for involuntary manslaughter.
Jayne Mansfield

American actress Jayne Mansfield died in a vehicle accident while en route to New Orleans. The Buick she was travelling in crashed into the rear of a tractor and went underneath it. The tractor had slowed down because of a vehicle spraying insecticide for mosquitoes.
