I've seen these discussions on several websites, but they all give a different list of celebrities' surgeries, some of whom, I didn't think looked too bad after their re(de)construction. Consequently, I've decided to whittle these down and compile my own list, simply because I think that the worst of the worst stood out as the ones who had most work done to their faces. Here is my countdown. See if you could guess who my number one would be. (Sources at the bottom of the page).
12. Jessica Simpson

A young actress and singer, she's last on my worst list because her self deformation was luckily, only temporary. An already pretty girl, so the need for surgery was obviously redundant.
11. Burt Reynolds

A once very handsome actor who spoilt his looks by having his skin stretched too far back behind his ears. His former crows' feet had a natural maturing attractiveness to them. He's second from last on my list because I'm hoping that with time, the taught plastic-like appearance of his skin will naturally age again.
10. Donatella Versace

Before (with her legendary brother Gianni)
An extremely talented, respectable woman with a shrewd business head on her shoulders. It was disappointing when she joined the plastic race to emerge looking as fake as most other personalities in Hollywood. Even with all her talent, this new "overdone" façade dumps her into the crowd of people who seem to think that respectability comes from what you look like on the outside.
9. Joan Rivers (born Joan Sandra Molinsky in New York)

American actress, popular comedienne, and TV show host. She famously admitted to having various surgeries on her face. By comparison to the others on my list, I think that she found a quite a good plastic surgeon because her face though expressionless, looks smooth and healthy for a woman in her seventies.
8. David Gest

American television producer, TV presenter, and ex-husband of Liza Minnelli. He had multiple surgeries done by Michael Jackson's plastic surgeon (Why?) I couldn't find any "before" pictures of him, but I saw one some time ago and thought that he was really handsome, dark, elegant and poised, with a hint of mischief in his eyes. He is in this position on my list because even though surgery has damaged his face, I like the man.
(p.s) actually, since he's grown a beard he doesn't look that bad).
7. Melanie Griffith

What can I say here? A fabulously beautiful woman, now in her fifties but looks a lot older. I suspect that if nature had been allowed to take its course, she would look at least 10 years younger than this "after" picture represents.
6. Joan Van Ark

A fine, confident American actress from Dutch ancestry who's actually now in her 60s. She is most popularly known for her role in "Knots Landing". She has evidently had work done in several places on her face including her lips, so much so that she no longer looks like Joan. What a pity!
5. Amanda Lepore (born Armand )

Transgender socialite, style icon and model. I spent a lot of time looking for a "before" picture of the before, but couldn't find one. She has had her eyes slanted twice, a forehead lift, brow bone reduced, hip, bum and lips enlarged, and even had a rib broken so it could be pushed in (among other things). This before picture looks good, why not leave it at that?
4. Jackie Stallone (born Labofish)

(And this is where the pictures become appaling, so hold onto your socks).
Psychic, author and mother of Sylvester, in her eighties. She predicts that Prince William will never be King of England. I think that she's erased any resemblance to her famous son by the way in which she's virtually deformed the once natural and easy smile that they both possess.
3. Latoya Jackson

Little sister of Michael Jackson, but a talented singer in her own right. She's obviously followed in her brother's plastic footsteps and had a nose job, which left her nose and cheeks looking very unnatural indeed.
2. Michael Jackson (Noooo… not my number 1)

Needs no introduction, as he is a legend in the real sense of the word. The handsome man on the left (even after the original nose job) could've stayed that way and grown old into a very good looking man indeed. Instead, this is how surgery has deformed him after work on his chin, eyebrows, cheeks, well, everything, even the colour of his lips look as though it has been pigmented. His eyes are unnaturally wide and his nose seems to be made only of plastic.
1. Joycelyn Wildenstein

When Ms Wildenstein (a wealthy socialite, and a once mysterious, sexy woman) found out that her husband was cheating on her, she decided that in order to win him back she simply must have surgery to turn herself into a giant cat, because her husband loved them. Consequently, this is what she did.
These people have publicly demonstrated that they believed that in order to be loved, you had to be perfect on the outside. Consequently, they have leapt into the world of cutting and pasting body parts without considering the negative effects it would have not only on themselves, but on impressionable young people wanting to be like them, but not having the funds to pay to have their bodies hacked up.
I wonder if they knew what the outcome would've been, if they would've gone ahead with surgery anyway? So many poor people are literally dying to have life saving surgeries, while in the West, people are opting for unnecessary ones which deform them for life. I hope that the next time a celebrity jumps on the table to have their faces chopped up, that they would spare some extra change for people counting the days to their funeral because of not being able to pay for vital life-saving surgeries.
If you had to make your own list, who would you put at number 1?
I have used several sources for this article, some of which do not link as an internet site. If you want to check the unlinkable ones, they are Entertainment wise, Newsday.com, and the Top socialite. I've listed the linkable ones below.
