Is the pageant held in different places each year? It used to be held in Long Beach, California alone. That was from 1952 to 1959 and in Miami Beach, Florida from 1960 to 1971. But now it is held in different locations.
How do you choose the pageant site? The organizer and the producer would work the whole year round with foreign governments to establish the site for the pageant. The one who offer most optimal venue and would support the pageant and the viewers potential is also considered - that is the country the committee will consider.
How many beautiful women from around the world compete? The number ranges between 65 and 80 women from different countries they represent
What is the basic requirement? The Miss Universe delegates must be at least 18 and under 27 years old by 1st of February in the year they compete
Are they required to have a coach? Not necessarily but most of them preferred to work with an experienced person who can give them insights about the competition. There are also candidates who rely on their country's pageant directors for assistance.
Can these women who win be married after the pageant? Winning delegates cannot be married or pregnant. In fact, they must not have been married or had a record of annulment or gave birth to a child. The titleholders are required to remain single throughout their reign.
Are they allowed to undergo cosmetic surgery? No restrictions are actually places on cosmetic surgery but the committee encourages delegates to preserve their natural God-given beauty and not to alter it in any ways.

What is next after being proclaimed? Part of her prize is an employment contract and automatically becomes the representative of the pageant producer. For one whole year she will be provided with a deluxe apartment and travels the world to meet dignitaries of different countries. She would speak in behalf of the pageant and of the company. She would also be appearing on different charitable programs and other events to be held by pageant sponsors.
