Stop. Pause. Then sigh as if you had fallen in love for the first time. That's what happens whenever I watch a movie with John Gilbert in it. John Gilbert is one of the most talented and most beautiful actors to grace the movie screen! He put so much passion and energy into every role he's played. I am just so in awe of that. I love actors who are filled with passion and energy. Being a superstar of the silent screen, he had unbelievably good non-verbal expressions. I mean you could see the whole movie literally through his beautiful eyes. John Gilbert's eyes could show every emotion possible-happiness, sadness, passion, anger, disgust, surprise, you name it-he could do it! Not only was he very talented, but, as I said before, he was so beautiful. He really does take my breath away. Finally, to top it all off, he was the epitome of romance, and lived up to his Hollywood nickname as “The Great Lover”. He personifies the man that every woman wants to be swept off their feet by. Well, at least every woman who dreams of being in an old-fashioned romance. John Gilbert could really heat up the screen with his female co-stars. However, those passionate kissing and wild love making scenes were done in a manner that was quite tasteful, yet enough to get the message across. John Gilbert…*sigh*…what an actor!
