Loving All of Us

There is a unique beauty in every culture and race that this world possesses. There is an allure, an intrigue, a purpose. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all could appreciate this beauty.

Loving All of Us

Acknowledging and Understanding the Importance of Cultural and Racial Appreciation

As an African American female, I have been educated on the struggles of my African and African American people. The trials and tribulations have been great, but the blessings have been vast. We have come a long way and, it is a privilege to be a part of a race that honors and appreciates the essence of determination and diligence. But, my appreciation doesn't stop there.

Acknowledging and Understanding the Problem

Knowingly, there are many cultures that enrich the diversified environment of this world. And, the present generations of these cultures have also heard the stories of their peoples' struggles to achieve a dream of freedom and prosperity. We are all living representatives of what has occurred in the past, what is in the present, and what will come in the future.

But, perhaps the biggest obstacle that has yet to be overcome is the solidarity of these cultures. In order for us to appreciate our brethren of all different races and nationalities, we have to first be educated about them. We will not know unless we learn, and we will not learn unless we desire to do so.

By learning we can understand why other races and cultures do the things that they do and believe what they believe. If we understand these things, we can learn how to co-exist and function as a whole. Because of our lack of knowledge of one another, we aren't considerate in the things that we do or say toward each other. We exclude instead of include, and are impatient and rude instead of patient and kind. We get offended easily by simple actions that cause no need for offense and stereotype and categorize rather than acknowledging, evaluating and understanding the truth behind the differences of other races and cultures. And, if this issue isn't resolved, we will breed future generations of hate, ignorance and stupidity.

Appreciating the Differences

Intentionally, the purpose of this work is to hopefully expose and generate the resolution of this problem by bridging the communicational and cultural gap between different ethnicities in our world. It is important to emphasize the cultural beauty and change that we all bring to this universe. And, by doing so, we will make a change in our communities, our families, and hopefully, our peoples. We have a God-given right to be who we truly are without being judged and condemned by our fellow citizens. But, we also have an ethic duty to love and honor their differences of opinion and culture by being considerate and respectful. We need to start asking, if we don't understand, and reasoning with truth, rather than asserting with speculations. The journey will be long and the battle will be rough, but with our unity and fortitude, we can and will make an effective difference. My hope is that we will be blessed and inspired to make an historic change for the better of our world and for the peace and sanity of our beings.
