He forcefully took power of the government by making Victor Emmanuel III so concerned about a uprising that he was offered the role of Prime minister and to create a new government.
Mussolini like many dictators was more concerned with his own good rather then the people of Italy. This was seen when he created The Fascist Decalogue in 1934 and again in 1938. In these Ten Commandments of the Italian It states Mussolini is always right and the life of the Duce is above all. This shows how the people should not flock to great him because he has no basic value for any of the individuals' life. The people had no reason to be excited to see Mussolini because he ruled through fascism which had aspects of racism, secret police and censorship all which is bad for a individual because it means if they don't like what you're saying you may be punished for speaking your mind or killed for speaking against Mussolini. The quote isn't deserved because the fascist party inflicted terror, violence and intimidated enemies of Mussolini which is dishonorable and should make people frown down upon his antics. Lastly The quote is undeserved because The Duce told the people he should be dear to all those In Italy above even their own lives because he was more important. He also tried to brain wash the youth with his youth movement which tried to install positive out look on The Duce.
These are the reasons Why Benito Mussolini wasn't deserving of the quote because he did nothing to positively change the lives of Italian people and nothing to justify people coming to greet Mussolini as a great leader. He ruled with Fascism and terror which wasn't beneficial to the people at all.
