The Wisdom of a Grandfather

(contd.)

The next day as Bill went about his hobby making chores in his work shed, knew also that his time was coming to an end that death was approaching may be in a year or may be five, he thought to him self. He knew it was getting close now, and began to think of what prayers he could say to God, to say thank you, for all of the wonderful life, both before he was converted, all those years ago, in prison, locked up once more for alcoholic insanity, and since his conversion. He had always realized since that time, that God alone can do for him that only He can do for any Man in and through himself as Jesus Christ. That Jesus alone has the sovereign power and authority to forgive sins and be the only mediator for himself to him self, for his chosen and elect people.

In the nine years he had left, Bill, had developed a legacy that every one was proud of, because of his continued works of rugged humble piety and steadfastness to the Word of God alone being the only Sovereign Authority over his conscience and his life and his will, and how it is to be that way to every one, who raises their voices and says they are Christian too. To him this was the acid test, and if any one failed to live up to it, just as he had to, then they were not Christian indeed.

He had developed a thorough doctrinally sound Christian Descipleship program based entirely on Scriptural texts from the AKJ Bible, from which doctrinally sound Ministers and Elders and doctrinally sound Christian father's, could use to soundly desciple their flocks and their children, and grand children, from now on.

He had produced all of the pamphlets and text's and tapes and news letters necessary, over a ten year period since he was fifty, in which to be able to pass on his God given legacy at the right time.

One month before he died Bill had called his eldest Son and eldest grand son to his home and in a private discussion had showed them his last will and testament, of how his estate and his descipleship program was to be looked after, by them both, with the help of his wife till she passes away, and then by them selves, just has he had done, since he first began his walk and work of life in Faith. And how they were to choose their successor's as he had chosen them, with the help and support and prompting of the Holy Ghost, and by prayer and supplication to God.

P14……………..They had little to say, for they were choked up with emotions willing to burst out of them at any moment, for the love they shard with him, and to the God given gracious burden and mantle he was bestowing on them; for they both knew, the honour he was granting them, just like Elijah had done with Elisha, in the Old Testament.

This was they knew Testament enough to their father and grandfather, whom by God's Sovereign Grace had pardoned him so long ago, and the love he had For God and For Jesus and For the Word of God, since that time.

At his funeral service and burial in the old town ship cemetary, he had always wanted to be buried in, with a grave marked out for his loving wife Mary, and for their children, in their turn, for the time when it was her time to join him in the grave. The Gospel message that day was of Jonah and of Faith and of obedience to that Faith.

At the end of the funeral service in the Church, His eldest son and the eldest son of all of their off spring came up and spoke freely of their father and grand father and great grand father, of all of his deeds, of love and grace and forgiveness and Faith, as did his wife, and all of the first born daughters and grand daughter and great grand daughters. All had tears in their eyes, as did all who attended his funeral service, and all who arrived in time for the burial service next to the open grave, freshly dug out, to receive this gracious and humble Man of God.

On his tomb stone and in the heart of it, was written "Here Lays dead a true Man of God, patiently awaiting the time of his raising up, on that wonderful day at the second coming of his Lord and saviour and redeemer and mediator, in Jesus Christ's name. Amen."

Bill always asked potentially Christian desciples, "What would you liked carved honestly on your tomb stones, when your turn to die arrives? Here Lays dead a true Man of God through Faith and belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Holy Sovereign Word in Scripture Alone? or not?"

So I ask you, now, "What would you liked carved honestly on your tomb stone, when your time to die arrives? Here Lays dead a true Man of God, through Faith and belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Holy Sovereign Word of God in Scripture alone? Or not? If so, how can you prove to me and to the world from this day on, from Scripture alone, by Faith in the triune and trinity of God in Jesus Christ as the sole Mediator and Redeemer Alone, in the Sovereign Word of Scripture Alone? That you too are really a Christian Scripturally?
