Who Are We

Where do we go to when we're deeply asleep or unconscious

Every day, in each of our lives, there are numerous different things that we're all thinking of, and we focus on these things in an attempt to realise our objectives. We’re all trying to make progress toward something in our minds by taking whatever actions we think would take us there. But behind the mask of what we've come to know as everyday living, there is an essential part of ourselves that we constantly forget, or I would say, we only seem aware of it only when we focus on it.

It's that quiet place within ourselves that talks to us just before we fall asleep. Think as far back as you possibly can, in all the different situations you've been in, you'll realise that there is always a constant you in everything you can remember.

It's the thing that tries to remember, and has all the memories. It's the thing that decides you're going to make a fist, then your muscles move in accordance. No matter what happens or what circumstances you face, there is this part of us that's always present. And it is the unseen part of us that we're so familiar with and know the least about; your very essence if I may.

This part of you always knows. Instinctively. If you've been inspired to action, it's almost as if you're letting your self be led by this part of yourself, to realise your objective. If there is a bad situation ahead, you get a bad feeling about it. It's the part of us that gives us the capacity to have dreams and realise them.

Once we realise the duality of our beings (meaning there is a physical as well as a non-physical part of us), it's easier to understand that in terms of correlation, the unseen bit is moving the physical bit. . .in that we intend it first then we take action. We experience deep emotion prior to crying. And if we carefully examine ourselves, we'd realise that every possible aspect of our physical lives, emanates from that silent place within us.

The only sensible question now would be; If everything in our physical world emanates from the unseen world, why aren't we more in touch with that part of our selves. And the answer is really simple; to gain knowledge of anything, or to increase our understanding of anything, we simply focus on it. To become more proficient at anything, all we do is give it our time and energy, and by focusing on the thing, our understanding of it deepens, and we get to know more about the paticular thing in context.

So too it is with our silent selves. We've never taken time away from all the things that we get preoccupied with, to give it any of our focus. All we truly desire is to be happy always, which is our essential nature and we experience this in deep sleep where there is an absence of our minds. In reality we've become so fixated on the physical realm, that we've lost touch with the part of us that's real. We've come to a stage where we mistake who we are with an image we see in the mirror.

But to really examine who we are, we need to figure out what we're not. Where does the person who we take ourselves to be, go to, when we're in deep sleep, or if we're unconscious, or any other time we cannot use our memory to validate our existence. When people have near death experiences, who is that sees the so-called light? Either being unconscious or having not remembered, it implies that there are periods of our lives, where we exist, but we're unaware of our existence. And there's a big difference in saying you were deeply asleep, as opposed to saying, you were absent. And can you validly talk about your own non-existence as an actual experience?

In reality, who we are goes deeper than our own understanding. If being where you are in life hasn't given you the happiness you imagined you'd have, chances are you'll never achieve it seeking things in the physical domain. Mainly because, the attainment of any physical thing gives momentary happiness, and simultaneously gives rise to another desire. Life becomes a loop of desires and achievements that leaves us spinning in between. The you that you are wants to be revealed. And when you discover your essential nature, and realise who you really are, life changes into something magical and exciting.

Above all things, to thine own self be true. Get acquainted with your self and experience life as being guided to your desires. Live a rich and full life knowing you can achieve anything you desire in love. Your ultimate joy is my sincerest desire.
