We say many times that we want to feed the hungry and give them shelter but what are we doing about it?
Poverty is a major problem all over the world. We, as US citizens, should, at the very least, feed those on our streets. There are many times, people will pass them by, not taking the time to even drop a dime in their cups. The percentage is going up. When are we going to wake up and realize that there are people out there with less that we have? If only people would join together to get the poor into shelters and homes and stop being money hungry.
When people pay $635 for a pair of "Kate" jeans, do they stop to think about what a poor person could do with that money? That is a month's rent! It's true many people work for a living and maybe the homeless could get jobs but how many people are going to hire someone who is dirty, wearing torn clothes, and stinks to high heavens? Many business owners see it as “unprofessional” but how “unprofessional” are we, as citizens of this country, if we do not accept them? When they have to show proof of residence, what do they have to show? A sheet of paper with card board box on Main written on it?
We have to do something before everyone is on the streets. So, "Pay It Forward", help the homeless! You can try these websites:
BTW-I also love that movie "Pay It Forward"
