Like the two pictures above, let us take the opposite view of what we may believe today, the opposite of evolution, the opposite of millions of years of earths past, and the opposite of atheism, completely opposite of this possible illusion. This theory and hypothesis is that everything that recorded in the ancient scriptures known as the Old Testament and New Testament is a reliable and accurate account of our history. Every event actually happened has recorded and this is the ultimate truth and the opposite of this is a delusion. We have books and films that warp the view of these ancient scriptures and it is becoming a topic of interest, but what is the truth, we need facts. For now, let us test that theory with the scientific method.
At some point in most peoples lives we ponder the question ‘Is the bible real?’ or ‘does God exist?’ Many people are unsure. Surely, the answer would be yes if we knew the bibles secrets and if we could step into the past to see if the stories really did happen, but we do not have a time machine. There is only one question difficult in answering, and that is why do the majority of people ignore what could be the ultimate truth? Think about it. Would it be so bad if there were really a place called heaven where you can go when you come to the end of your life? Would it be so bad if there were a real God who exists and is concerned with our well-being? Put another way, is it a good idea to search for the truth and then heed the warning of going to hell if in fact hell is a real destination? Who knows?
To determine truth there is no point in accepting a theory just because it sounds good and makes us content with life and death, the facts need to be compatible. Nobody can determine the truth from only one angle, but if God really is true, we should find out. Is He the God of the bible or the God or gods of some other religions? To answer that we need to decide ourselves based on the evidence, but to determine whether the universe was started by God or by chance, we also need to discover if the evolution theory is true.
There are only two options available to us, God created the universe, or the universe formed itself by chance. Like a shell game, which one is the one with the pea underneath it? Which one do you put your money on? The third option is illogical. Neither happened, or it does not matter; live your life one day at a time. Nobody would take the third option if we knew the truth. Many are reluctant to search for the answer, and when a person shuts his or her eyes for the very last time, this is the only time a person can be sure of what the ultimate truth is. However, this is when we find out the truth, but by then may be it is too late. If we are to be wise, we need to test if there is any evidence for the truth now in this lifetime.
We need to see it before we go to the grave, consider the possibility, and give our time to search for the answer to the most important question in our lives. The truth affects us, and to be only aware of the lie can have serious consequences. After all, if events recorded in ancient documents happened, there should be plenty of evidence of them. If they did not happen and they are merely pure imagination, then there is no evidence. Sometimes the media, books, television, magazines, and newspapers seem to parade that the bible fails support by solid evidence. Is this true, or do the media unknowingly only tell us one side of the story?
It is the most important question in life because if the answer is that God is real and the bible is more than a book of religious stories then it affects you, and everyone in the world. If this is indeed the truth then everyone should know about it. It would be the most important aspect of people’s lives here on earth, how we should live, how we are to view the world around us, and where we are to go when we die. Think of it this way. A lifetime of 70 to 100 years is comparatively small when compared to eternity. What happens to us for eternity if everyone is destined to last that long? The bible seems to think so; “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” – Matthew 25:46.
