Everyone's Trying to be a Magic Wand

We're all trying to change the world.

The Nobel prize is the most coveted prize for any individual who considers himself an intellectual or a social campaigner. The huge façade and the doorway which leads to an ominous hall, the sight of waiters carrying cakes which a burning rocket in the pies are the most intimidating times for even a honest social activist. The question is how does one make it then?

If you ever look at the vast multitudes of crowds pouring in the city roads at the rush hour, you could just imagine the scale of excitement that people carry to make it big one day. The human mind which is the inventor of so much differentiation in our technology, is like a colossal tide of ideas floating on the surface of the earth.Despite the tide however, the elusive big fish just turns up once in a while. Nothing can take away the fact, that despite the innovations done by man, innovations have only been modifications of very few original ideas. If you ever looked at history, how many Newton's ,Einstein's,Von Neumann's and Paganini's have we had?.

Countless examples show you the greatness of the creators of inventions, but most of these cases will show you that their intentions were never original and in many cases done in need of dire subsistence. There are also many examples of inventors who were unaware of the consequences of their inventions. When Robert Oppenheimer and his colleague physicist Edward Teller made the atom bomb for the US, the eccentric Oppenheimer quoted a verse from the Bhagvat Gita, one of the holy scriptures of Hinduism. John Nash who provided a solution to John Von Neumann's Prisoner Dilemma deadlock in game theory by providing the Nash equilibrium, left the answer dangling in thin air, which through sixty years of innovation now defines general economic behaviour.

Thevast multitude of the public today are looking for answers, to please their employers, their professors, their family et. al.Everyone today wants to be the Genie, the builder of castles higher than the ranks of human imagination. The next time you have that feeling, don't press your think button too far, because the idea is lying next to you, in other words you just need to try.
