There is a problem that a lot of people never seem to take into consideration when they first decide to use the law of attraction in their lives. They assume that the reason they need to use the law of attraction is because there is something broken in their lives that needs to be fixed.
Maybe it’s true that there are some areas in their lives that they want to change but the way they approach these areas will more than likely produce the opposite of the desired effect they’re looking for. Why? Because they focus on the problem rather than the solution.
The Law of Attraction is a basic law that states that whatever it is your dominant thought is focused upon, that is what you will attract into your life. If you constantly focus on what is supposedly wrong in your life, then you will attract more of whatever it is you don’t want.
The Solution
By using the concepts of the Law of Attraction to help you “get rid of the problem,” you are actually bringing more of that problem into your life. Why not simply focus on the solution and let the universe bring that to you?
For instance, let’s say that you want to quit smoking. You write out an affirmation that says “I want to quit smoking.” You repeat that statement to yourself in the morning when you arise and you do the same in the evening when you go to bed. Throughout the day you mentally repeat to yourself “I want to quit smoking.” Yet it’s been weeks or even months and you’re still smoking.
Let’s take a moment to examine the original statement. What do you think it focuses upon? Does it focus on a solution to the smoking problem? No! It focuses on the problem: smoking! It also focuses on a key word “want.” If you consistently “want” something, you attract more want, not what you desire. But that’s another article entirely. For now why not change that affirmation to “I now have clean healthy lungs, incredible energy and fresh breath.”
Now that’s working on the solution.
