Lost in Thought

An outburst of random thoughts.

Although I’m a young teen, still ignorant and in high school, I ponder to myself about random things; fate, the human mind, the world. I lie back in my chair and think anything over. Contemplating how each action has an effect on you, each person you meet, each object you touch. Of course it isn’t ‘fate,’ but it takes part in your future, in everybody’s future.

As I roam around my room I think about what I’ve done in the past month, what I could have changed, could have said. Each phrase I speak out loud may affect another person, leading to a chain. Affecting that person’s family and friends. It’s a bit like the idea of six degrees of separation; that human beings are connected through relationships with at most six other people. That is definitely true to me and I can think how I take part in those six degrees of separation for other individuals.

Now think it over yourself, what can you change for the better. Think about what you’re about to say before you speak it, you can cause an impact part in the world. Looking back in history small actions have caused large impacts; Hitler refused to an art school, Favrilo Princip killing Franz Ferdinand, Martin Luther King speaking up for racism… What can you do? After all we’re part of the world, we change it.

Simply by ignoring insults you could have changed something. Even holding back your insults. Taking on what you want to do. Following your gut. As I’ve constantly mentioned, you have an impact on the world. Change it for the better. Be smart.
