A collective person may find themselves attracted to the ideal of fitting in, or rather, employing a role in a group or team. An individualistic person may find themselves contrasting in juxtaposition with those gathered in groups. I find that I am an individualistic person, independent of the sustaining implement provided by teams or groups. I find that when there is a consensus in the group, I am distinguished by my individual opinion, which contrasts logically with the groups popular opinion. I also find myself dressing differently, and using analogies which are unique and applicable, but differ from the usual metaphors spoken by people today.
An example of this could be an event that took place today. I was walking with a group of individuals who believed that voting democrat was what they were supposed to do in order to overthrow the current political status of our country, which my popular opinion, is the result or republican demise. I retorted with the argument that I would rather not vote at all, considering that the electronic voting devices are manufactured by biased industries that are conservatively right-wing and supportive of the republican party. Also, the electoral college is made up of a large population of fundamentalist leaders who neglect to observe the opinions of the people.
I am an individualistic thinker because I don't feel that just being part of a group will make me as an individual happy. I feel that being myself, and voicing my views, my desires, and my contentions are crucial to my contentment. Therefore, I am an individualistic person and I love every minute of it.
