Why do governments want us to spend so much time concentrating on what makes us different? Simple answer, a divided country is easier to control. Think about it for a moment. Who decides what is and what is not PC? You? Me? The group concerned? No! A white middle class liberal man in parliament decided what is offensive to Asians, what is offensive to Black people, what is offensive to gay people. Who is he to decide?
All PC does is make us concentrate about what makes us different. The country is split up into groups and we are all told what is acceptable to each group, so every time you approach someone who is different to you, you are instantly on edge. Worrying about what might offend them. This is wrong.
There is a wonderful word in the English language called "Sorry". If you speak to someone and accidently offend them you can use this word. You can them remember not sat whatever was offensive to that person again. Don't assume that everyone who is the same race as that person, or who has the same sexual preference, as that person might be offended by the same thing. Cos here is the biggie. Here is the big bit of news that has been denied to us. We are all individuals and are offended by different things. Good isn't it. So the next time you see someone who appears to be different to you, forget about PC, don't think about what is different, concentrate on what you have in common and we might just all learn to get along.
