Millions of people come to the US in search of a better life; others come to the US to make money. Another good reason for immigration would be the rise of the economy. Although many come to the US, some are not that lucky.
A variety of people immigrate to the US to start a better life than they previously lived. In Mexico, thousands of Mexicans die a year because they could not afford food and die of starvation; however, those who immigrate to America have a better chance to survive starvation. In the year of 1968, approximately 78,000 Cubans fled into Miami, Florida from Cuba because of Fidel Castro's communist regime. Other immigrants fled into the US because of conflict they face in their country, such as Iraq. Also, another good reason of immigration would be money.

This probably happened because one (1) American dollar would be equal to eight (8) pesos (Mexico's currency). David Card, an economist at the University of California, says that the wage gap between dropouts and high school graduates has remained constant since 1980; immigration barely affects the wages of the US-born workers. Only 5% of the immigrants take up low-wage or low-skilled jobs and it is not evenly spread out in the US. Another good reason for immigration is the boost of the economy.
Although many people debate about the growth of the economy I think it goes up. Some jobs even depend on the US immigrants to survive; however, the majority of these workers are prepared to work the minimum wages. In the BBC report, they stated that the foreign-born workers tend to contribute more to the economy than they take out of it. It also said that their taxes outweighs the amount of benefits they receive because they and sent back to their home country. Some jobs only exist because of the cheap immigrant labor, also.
I am for immigration in the United Stats of America. Immigrants come to the US to start a better life. Immigrants come to the US to make money. Our economy boosts up, also. Not only do they gain something for immigrating but we also too. Immigration is a good thing, for them, for us, but most importantly for America.
