Obama in the Lead

A powerful speaker can lead the masses. Obama's words in the January 5th debate rang true for many. "Words do inspire" So who will win New Hampshire and ultimately the election?

Obama came out ahead in Iowa… now we shall see how New Hampshire responds. Who will our next president be? What makes us vote for our future leader of America? “Words do inspire”, Obama proclaimed. There is a truth to this that one cannot deny.

In a recent Sociology class, my professor asked, “What makes a social movement successful?”. The overwhelming response was a charismatic leader. Yes one must have an initial unrest, funding, media coverage, government backing, among other things. Still, across the board almost everyone agreed that a powerful speaker who can get the crowd going is the strongest influence.

Think back to some of the most powerful leaders of all time, good or bad, who were able to spellbind a crowd and had the masses chasing after them. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Martin Luther King, Jr., and even Hitler, were able to lead for one important reason if none other… they were incredible, persuasive, and charismatic speakers who became leaders.

So yes, words do inspire. Will this presidential campaign be won on grounds of a leader who eloquently speaks of change, is soft spoken, but can also lead by his inspiring words of a new America? Will Obama be our new leader? I believe this has become a great possibility. He speaks of a change that America is in need of. He also has the backing of Oprah, who is a major influence for many. Talk about a charismatic leader! Oprah's praises of Obama have not gone unheard.

Our country is tired of a war that most believe has been waged for ulterior motives. A number of people also believe that they have been lied to, secrets have been kept, and that major change is the most important factor in turning our country around in such turbulent times. Does this automatically ruin the chances for a Republican to make his way to office or do the Republic candidates still have a chance?

If history continues to repeat itself and Obama is right, the one shall only have to listen for the most powerful, spellbinding speaker of this campaign to find out who will next sit in the White House as our leader for the next four years.

Hi, enjoyed reading your article. I think Obama has tapped into the hunger in people for a new day, he is talking about the future not the past. Hillary's timimg may be off, young people and women are coming to Obama. As you say in essence, time will tell. Good job.

Dear Quiet Voice,
Thank you so much for your approval of this article. Obama has begun to ultimately take America by storm, I believe. With his own quiet voice and promises of a change that Americans are hungry for, this man may be the next man to sit in our White House as our leader!

I really enjoyed this article. Words are powerful, yes, but actions do speak louder than words. Let's hope America can
look beyond the words. Check it out..........HILTER WAS AN
INCREDIBLE, PERSUASIVE AND CHARISMATIC SPEAKER! That says it
all in my opinion. America needs to open their eyes and not
just their ears.
Let's hope Obama is wrong.

It was brief and to the point. Even if it is an "opinion". America can only hope for some change that gives them hope. Even though Oprah may have alot of pull, Obama may still fall short. I wish him luck. Great Job Cynthia.

well the thing is that he gets up on stage and just says, "change!" over and over again. and people eat it up! he hasn't said much about what he wants to change yet. and I do believe that most are voting for him because he's black. and don't want to seem like a bigget for not throwing in their vote. I've talked to many black people about this and they always say that it is time for them to have power as black people. and when I ask them about obama's views they always say they don't know and they don't care, "we just want a brother in the white house," I here most. I would vote for a girl, black guy, black girl, or an old white guy. it doesn't matter to me at all. I just care about their views and what they have done in the past. I would vote for obama before I would vote for that empty suit hillary. but I'm a republican and I'm hoping for a republican victory!
