Hypnosis

The closest thing to magic that's known in this generation.

Hypnosis is a trance which relies on either relaxation, elevated imagination, or extreme suggestibility. This state is very close to daydreaming, but although on most films it is compared to a sleeping state, it's actually not very close to this, because to be hypnotized you need to be alert at all times. The subject also has to want to be hypnotized and also needs to think that he can be hypnotized.

Some of the effects of hypnosis are self improvement, health effects and motivation, helping your business situation, or even sometimes sports psychology. Some everyday types of hypnosis are reading a book, driving a car, watching a movie, and mowing a lawn. If you are hypnotized, you focus on one thing and tune out all the worries, doubts, etc. that keep you alert. The first hypnotist (The Father of Hypnotism) was Franz Mesmer, an Australian. Before it was known as hypnotism it was called mesmerism, because of Franz Mesmer.
