Are tested principles for making your feelings serve you well instead of letting them control you and lead you to do things you later regret or cause you to sour an otherwise profitable transaction.

Here are tested principles for making your feelings serve you well instead of letting them control you and lead you to do things you later regret or cause you to sour an otherwise profitable transaction.

Feelings can be managed

Emotions have causes, triggers. Particular emotions have particular triggers or respective causes. The weather can instantly bring gloom or excitement in the morning upon looking out of the window. The blaring music from the TV can cause irritation that lingers as you go about your office work of handle the needs of the children. Thoughts and memories can bring you to the height of ecstasy to the valley of depression.

Managing your feelings towards positive direction starts with becoming familiar with your emotional pattern either time wise or situation wise. You may find that you tend to become despondent during dusk time or every time your partner goes off to a long trip or every time somebody makes a negative comment. Knowing the causes of your emotional pattern long before it occurs can help you change your feeling experiences. Knowing what in dusk time that makes you despondent can help you choose activity or physical adjustment of your room that change your despondency to one of lightness of heart, to even joy.

Feelings are integral to your being

Feelings are not isolated entities of one's being. They are connected to the physical set up of one's body particularly to the brain and through the brain to the whole body. Science has shown the intimate connection between thoughts, feelings, physical movements and chemical reactions within one's body.

Knowing this, you can choose to take concrete physical action to change how you feel. When you feel like worn out or weary when there's no physical reason at all, you may take a break and stretch or walk briskly and suddenly you feel strong and energetic. When you feel lack of confidence, raising your voice can make a difference to your feeling of confidence. You can experiment what physical actions bring particular feelings to you so you can do them whenever some negative feelings begin to take over you.

Feelings are thought generated

Thought is the immediate cause of feelings. The kinds of feelings that arise within you are preceded by the thoughts that have been lingering in your mind. Some thoughts are powerful that they create immediate change in one's feelings. For long-term management of one's emotion you need to examine your feelings back to the thoughts that trigger them. Recurring pattern of emotion may be traced to habits of thoughts or attitudes. Hence to change one's emotional pattern, you need to change your habits of thoughts.

Feelings are deeply rooted in one's belief

Some feelings have deeper root causes, especially when there is no immediate rational basis for them. They can be traced to the belief system you have harbored in your heart. These beliefs may have been brought to you by strong experiences in the past or something you may have inherited from significant others in your life. Feelings of low esteem whenever you are in a specific situation or feelings of anger whenever you are in contact with particular type or group of people may be unconsciously triggered by past experiences of depreciation by others or injustice committed against you or your loved one by persons from this type or group of people.

Knowing and understanding the causes of your feelings will enable you to take the proper step to manage and transform your feelings towards those that give your well-being, inspire you to positive good actions and simply give you joy, happiness excitement and encouragement - all by simply doing, saying, thinking and believing the right things.
