How people feel and think, of their self affects every aspect of their life. Every person at some point in their life will feel bad about themselves. The person with low self esteem issues continues to feel bad about themselves, not for just the one incident that occurred in their life.
Why Low Self Esteem
There are many reasons that people giving for feelings of low self esteem. These can range from abuse, both physical and verbal, as a child to the inability to protect ones self or others. Most of these are tragedies that the person had no control over but some underlying part of a person may feel they could have controlled the situations.
Importance
Part of self esteem is not just how people see and think of their self but, how others see them. Most people think that this does or should not matter, but it does. Everyone has the need to be recognized for something in their lives. Another important aspect of a persons' self esteem issues is the tendency to be physically sick.
Because they feel bad about their self, they don't take the kind of care needed to maintain good health. Low self esteem causes feelings of depression and anxiety. It becomes a cycle of depression causing the person to be unmotivated in caring for the physical health, which in turn cycles back to depression.
If low self esteem issues are present, a person needs to address those issues in order to maintain good physical and emotional health. People need to do this for their self and others around them. People should not let self esteem issues be the controlling factor in their life. There are many methods and people to help someone improve self esteem.
