Mantra is the word or affirmation that you repeated with awareness to make your subconscious mind pronounce it. Mantra becomes more powerful if you understand meaning of it and idea in it. When you spell mantra again and again, it becomes self-talk in your mind. That is why mantra has an effect on the life of people who spell it.
Everyday, we are doing self talk. Whether it is positive or negative, we spell words in our subsconscious mind. Unfortunately, when we have bad feeling or face the people who overcritize our weakness with their negative comment, our mind responds it with negative self talk, then we start to do self sabotage. For example, when our friends say “No woman loves you”, we just accept that negative idea and start to do self-talk that we deserve to be alone or that we are not attractive to woman. When other say that our pronunciation of English is bad and that we are not talented in learning foreign language, sometimes, our mind just say “yes”to that negative idea. The negative state of mind can create worse conditions. It can make us lack of confidence and stop our effort to do the best.
So, what should we do to deal with difficult situation and bad comment on us? Don't say "yes" to anything that can sabotage you. At least, you should spell and affirm positive things so those become top of the tongue in your self talk and keep doing the best. Spell and affirm in your mind that you are interesting and glossy person. Make affrimation that you are in the process to achieve better performance and life. Create affirmation or spell or mantra so it become your positive self talk in your subsconscious mind because positive self talk can create positive mind set.
