The Power of Our Dreams and Fears

How our dreams and subconscious fears strangely affect our daily lives.

Have you ever had a nightmare that was vividly real? What did you wake up thinking?

I have heard that all dreams have a meaning. I believe that the imagery of our dreams are subconsciously linked to the events in our lives. Example: I remember stressing over a trip out of town. I spent the week arguing with my father An event that I regretted later of course.Anyway I told him I didn't care if I saw his wife again. We were having ups and downs.

Moving on, that thanksgiving I had a nightmare. Alcohol induced admittedly, but nonetheless it had to do with my stepmother kicking me out of her house. It happened later on that day in reality. I was drunk but vividly recall her telling me she wanted me out and that she doesn't even want me at her funeral or family gatherings. She said not to call her mom anymore.

Strangely, despite our ups and downs one of my greatest fears was abandonment by her. I considered her my mom for years. She raised me since I was four and yet in my later years I pushed her away. I think its weird that I dreamed she kicked me out because she did later.

I think if we let our fears get the best of us we manifest them, good or bad. I think our dreams serve to warn us or teach us, and I believe that, is the power of dreams

Dreams can give us insight. Teenage years can be pretty dramatic but life carries on! It is all good!
