Using a Papercutter

In design, everything must be measured and proportioned to perfectly fit and portray the message that is to be delivered.

Paper cutters are used to give precise measurements to a quality of work i.e. newsletters and posters. The position in which you will place the paper(s) on the mat should correspond to the measurement on the side and on the top of the mat in order to get an accurate measurement.

Step One: Place up to 15 sheets of paper inside the clamp to hold work securely

Step Two: Align the paper with the measurements of the length and the width given on the sides of the mat.

Step Three: Mark the desired width and length measurements on the paper with a pencil.

Step Four: Cut the marked width and the length of the paper by slowly positioning down the blade.

Step Five: Ensure that the cuts are the exact measurements that are need. If not, readjust new pages on the cutting board and refer back to Step One.
