Confessions of a Divorced Mom – Jealous of You!

Even though divorce is a very common thing in these modern times, a divorced mom can still have trouble coming to terms with it. Of course, there is the initial problem of getting over the loss of the husband, but there are more long-term effects as well. No matter how much married women may complain about their husbands being lazy or not romantic enough, the divorced mom may still be jealous of you!

He Never Sends Me Flowers or Remembers My Birthday

Some married moms complain regularly about their husbands. It seems to be the favorite topic of conversation for some, and it creates a sense of camaraderie among the women. Many moms complain about their husband's lack of romance of thoughtfulness for holidays and birthdays.

A divorced Mom never gets flowers from a husband. Never has a man to sheepishly grin and wish her a happy birthday after she bakes herself a cake and leaves in on the kitchen counter. A divorced Mom can be jealous of this... jealous of the fact that you have a man to complain about.

When He Has the Kids, He Feeds Them Candy for Breakfast

When a divorced Mom's kids get candy for breakfast, its all her fault. While the other Moms might complain about their husbands not feeding nutritious meals or snacks, the divorced Mom may feel guilty about her kids not getting that chance to break the rules. While she may justify it, telling herself that her kids will be healthier, she may still be jealous of that lack of father in their life.

He Leaves His Dirty Socks on The Floor

Another thing that many married women love to complain about is their husbands never picking things up. Socks are on the floor, dishes in the living room, and his tools are on the kitchen counter still! The divorced Mom could see this as a benefit. Everything, except the things her kids invariably leave around, is where she puts it, and she never loses anything.

However, there is no help for those other jobs. While a married mom's husband may have dropped his coffee cup on the counter instead of washing it out on his way to mow the lawn, the divorced Mom has to mow the lawn herself as well as do all the dishes. One dirty coffee cup, or a mowed lawn? Which is less work? The divorced Mom can be jealous again.

These confessions of a divorced Mom reveal how some women may feel when their married friends begin to complain about their husbands. For all their faults, having a man around can be a great thing. These divorced Moms, no matter how secure and happy they are, might still get jealous of you.

Excellent article! I am afraid to say more - I don't want to reveal too much - but this is one article every married woman should read at least every week. It could save a lot of marriages if we do.

Women still haven't changed, why should you be grateful to have some schmuck who refuses to pick up his own stuff? There are plenty of decent men who were brought up better than that. As to the Divorced mom, por favor, it is a piece of cake to find a guy to help with maintenance type things. And for the record, I used to mow the lawn because it was more expedient than waiting for my husband who traveled frequently, to do it. It is not that big of a deal and you can always get your kid or a neighbor kid to do it. No, the only reason to envy a married woman is because she made a good choice and they work well together otherwise, it appears you are saying something is better than nothing. If that is true, go find a homeless man and have him grin at you sheepishly.
