Dating Tips

Work your way to a memorable dating experience. Who knows, you might end up with Mr./Ms. Right this time.

Dating has become an open market. With the growing number of dating options - online dating, mobile or virtual, speed dating, singles gathering - the possibilities are endless.

If you hope to find someone special, however, but can't seem to pull it off, perhaps you have to change your style and have some dating principles makeover. You don't really need to be a dating expert to win the second, third or the rest of the dating days. The rules to successful dating are basic and you can have it done your way.

Intentions

Some guys and girls get the notion that the reason for dating is often purely sexual. If you hope to find Mr or Ms Right, let your date know your objectives by communicating to him or her without the pretense. Otherwise, you could be sending the wrong message. Get real. That way, she or he would get the idea and you can detect if he or she's in or out.

    Character

Confidence and courtesy (even when you are bored to death) are the best characters that would endear you to your date. Don't make them feel uncomfortable and wanting for the night to end. Just a reminder: Avoid drinking too much so you can have a clear view of your date's characters.

      Good Conversation Skills

A good relationship begins with a simple date, where you get to know each other by exchanging ideas and telling a few personal stories (which should not include past experiences with ex-boyfriends or girlfriends). She may think that you are uninterested if you would remain quiet and let her do the talking. In the first place, what is the point of dating?

        Being Neat and Presentable

You might want to leave an impression for the person to accept you for who and what you are but at least show your date that you have class and can take care of yourself. Put on clean blouse or shirt, nice pair of jeans and shoes, and appropriate perfume and accessories.

          • Don't be too available

While you have been wanting for the date to happen, at least play a little bit hard-to-get for excitement. Show him or her that you're not the clingy type.

          • Moving on

You are lucky if your newfound friend asks for a second date. That means more chance of knowing him or her better. However, not all first dates are successful, which is normal. First dates determine whether you would hit it off as partners but in case it turns out to be the last, don't be discouraged. Move on and expect that you can end up with the right one in one of your next dates.

The world of dating can be fun and exciting but remember that it is not always as good as it seems. Males and females still have to watch out for opportunists and players. On the other hand, the latter can be tolerable.
