If he leaves you waiting for half an hour (or more!) when he's promised to take you out on a date, and without a good reason, watch out. Girls want reliable guys who say they'll be there and then do just that.
He calls you at random times, just to see if you're alright
Of course all guys do this at first, but wait a while and see if the calls gradually trail off. Guys who are players tend to cool off after a few weeks, so put your guy to the test and see if the calls keep coming.
He is open about his moods, problems and insecurities
Macho men may be alluring, but they're often full of themselves and unwilling to let you know when they have issues. They will try to sort it out on their own and distances themselves from you in the process. It's not sissy to be insecure at times - a guy who cares about you should know you care about him too, and share his life with you no matter what happens.
He never forgets your birthday
Guys who forget birthdays and other special days are obviously not serious. Of course, there is sometimes the odd one who is simply too pure and saintly to remember - but most of them should really be making an effort.
He tells you he loves you
This is the most important one! A guy who never says he cares probably stopped caring long ago. You deserve to be cared about, so make sure you're not being unfairly treated by your guy.
