Getting a Man to Propose

Tips from a recent study suggesting ways that encourage men to pop the question!

Believe it or not, this is a highly studied subject. One recent study has concluded that the following criteria have led to three times more proposals.

Like his friends.

Try to encourage events where you get to socialize with his friends and demonstrate that you enjoy their company. If they want to hang out with you, he will be more inclined to see you as a permanent part of his life.

Listen Enthusiastically.

Make sure you listen to him with the same enthusiasm you have when talking to your girlfriends. He wants to know that you are genuinely interested in what he has to say.

Wear green.

Unbelievably, the studies revealed that women, who wore green two or three times each week, were three times likelier to get a proposal. Apparently, green has an effect on men that makes them want to commit.

Don’t drink too much.

Men did not respond well to women who drank excessively. It would appear that the mood altering effects of alcohol changed the interaction between the man and woman and, although he might enjoy it, he was far less likely to commit to someone that he did not view as having stable and consistent personality.

Go away.

When the relationship is serious but the question hasn’t been asked, get away from him. Go on a vacation for a week and be out of touch. It was in these critical stages of a relationship that the men realized they could not live with the woman.

Who knows if there is any truth to this, but food for thought nonetheless.

Not sure about the green color part but definitely the going away part is great. Make sure you are not faking it when hanging out with his friends and paying attention to him. If you are faking it, the relationship later on can falter.
