Relationships take hard work, there's no doubt about that. They take compromise and understanding. People fight, because nobody's perfect and people make mistakes. Nobody has the perfect relationship, I've learned, and I've come to accept that. Growing up, I though my parents had the perfect relationship. They never seemed to fight, and they were completely in love with each other. Then, when I was 17, they split up. Its was a nice reality check for me and my brothers.
The point is, my parents fought without any of us even knowing that there was something wrong. Now, I'm not a therapist, I'm not a marriage counselor, I'm just a normal person in a normal relationship. We've been together for five years, and yes, we fight, but I absolutely adore him, and he feels the same way about me.
We've both had to work hard to get to this point in our relationship. Happiness is not going to fall out of the sky and land in your lap. So, go out there and make yourself happy!
