Read on to learn how to come up with a wedding anniversary location if you are both undecided or you have different ideas on how to celebrate your wedding anniversary.
Brainstorming Exercise
Brainstorming exercises do not have to be confined to children who are revising for exams or trying to recall information to mind for a classroom project. Couples who have a wedding anniversary looming can use this simple exercise to try and help them decide where to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Start off with a blank sheet of paper. As a couple, call out the names of locations you are both interested in visiting and then write them down.
But for this exercise to work, these must be viable locations that you and your spouse are seriously considering visiting. If you write down New Zealand, but do not have the money to travel so far, then omit it altogether. Instead, opt for locations that you can afford to visit for your wedding anniversary, whether they are close to home or a little further afield. Come up with a list of as many or as few locations as you can. After you have exhausted all possible locations, tear the paper into strips and place the pieces of paper into a hat or bowl and then pick one.
Expense
An anniversary getaway should not leave you and your spouse heavily in debt, nor should you both feel that you have not taken enough time to make it a truly memorable occasion. When choosing where and how to celebrate your wedding anniversary, you should calculate the total expense of the trip. Will you need to budget for fuel costs? Parking charges at the airport? These charges can quickly add up and make you spend more money than you had hoped to.
Interests
Not to be forgotten in the planning stages of a wedding anniversary break are personal interests that you and your spouse share. If you like to golf, spend time at the beach or go to the theatre then you will need to research the location you will be visiting to make sure that your personal interests will be catered for. If there are no golf courses, beaches or theatres within a 50 mile radius of your chosen location, will you be happy to settle for this location or would it be better to go back to the brainstorming exercise and pick out another location?
These are just a few factors that you will need to take into consideration when trying to decide where to spend your next wedding anniversary.
