They make blockbuster movies, soften the hardest people, send hearts a flutter. Too bad I do not have my own. For what captures the hearts of most more than a well-told love story?
A recently watched a cute, but rather forgettable movie, that says "If you are not willing to look stupid, then you do not have the right to fall in love.'" Or something to that effect. I already forgot. I wouldn't have dwelled on that one-liner if the topics over lunch the following week didn't dwell on, well, falling in love and being stupid. Of course looking stupid is way different from being stupid.
I have spent a good number of days listening to all kinds of love stories. I have watched people cry, get confused, and go ga-ga over someone. I have had my fair share of opinions about them. But it all don't matter. It's not my story. It's theirs. In the end, all stories are the same. People love the idea of being in love. Whether it is for real or is somewhere lying in the realms of make believe, that certain feeling makes a lot people happy. More so than anything else in the world. So, I say, can anything be better than that? Maybe I'm less of a skeptic now, but I can finally see the "sense" in the idea that if looking stupid makes you happy, then it's all worth the risk of getting hurt in the end. (I will stand by looking, but not being.)
Someone who wrote a book said that it is only through the image of death that you can learn to appreciate the wonders of being alive, but you cannot be fully alive if you'll always have the fear of death at the back of your mind. This may be way off topic, but it sounds a lot like "you cannot be truly happy if you are not willing to get hurt." People in love loves that saying.
All love stories are the same. Now, this sounds like something I've heared from a movie. So, for now, I'll watch and listen. Let me be a spectator of all these mayhem. Make this fun, people.
