Okay, I know it's way too late for Valentine's day, but guys, you can perform these tasks all year round, and, I guarantee you will have one happy lady on your hands. I would caution you against doing them all in one day because the results may be more than you can handle.
Also try to remember that these are things that most "full time working", career type, women end up doing more often than their male counterparts do. It is therefore, much appreciated when it is done for them. Don't wait for the pots and pans to start clanging and banging, give them a try.
Pick up after yourself
This small thing might not get you any major attention but it will not go unnoticed. It is a good start and practice to get you going onto the bigger, better things. This will also save from the “eye roll”, sigh and even some bad attitude, after all, it is your mess.
Finish your projects
No woman wants to nag her man…it's true!… but sometimes men apparently need a fix now and then to get them in gear. Whether it means fixing the toilet or patching a hole in the wall or even reassembling something you have taken apart and haven't got back to, well… just do it already! Finish it! You know it's the right thing to do, so get on with it.
Give her a spa day at home
I'm not talking a manicure, pedicure or facial etc. (unless you really want to). When she comes home from work after a long, stressful day, plunk a basin of warm, scented water - something with Epsom salts preferably - at her feet, pull off her foot coverings, set her feet in it and while they soak, rub her neck and shoulders. Once the foot soak is finished (about fifteen minutes), take out the foot cream and give those tootsies some loving. Alternatively, you can have a nice hot, bubble bath, a glass of wine and some soothing music waiting for her when she walks in the door. When she is all settled in, leave her alone for a while. It is amazing what those combinations of thoughtfulness will do for a woman's perspective.
Listen to how her day went
Don't waste those broad shoulders men, letting her unload after a stressful day at work, without tuning her out, will strengthen her bond to you. A sympathetic ear and a warm cuddle without the insinuation of sex will also increase her feelings of intimacy with you.
Share the remote
Don't grumble when Dr. Phil or Oprah appear on the screen, or you are just moving backwards. Even better, rent a chick flick she's been dying to see and watch it with her. Do try to pretend you like it, she will probably know that you are pretending but will appreciate your effort.
Make dinner
Take out will do, but, she won't brag to her girlfriends about it or make a huge fuss. If you really want to impress your woman, cook it yourself and clean the kitchen up afterwards. This will cause a reaction you will likely remember for quite some time.
Finish her project
Although highly unlikely, there may be some project she has been meaning to do but somehow has not gotten around to yet, if you finish this for her, you may just get yourself into the bonus round.
Housework
This category does not fall under the “pick up after yourself” category, they are two totally different animals. Those pesky everyday chores like washing dishes, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and cleaning the washroom as well as the weekly chores such as laundry or washing the windows can really take up a lot of your lady's time and energy. Doing or even helping with these tasks could earn you extra reward miles.
So, there you have it, some simple, little things you can do to tug at your favorite femme's heart strings. Done on a regular basis, without having been asked and no expectations on your part (like a sexy negligee laying on the bed for her to wear) will make her weak in the knees - even if she pretends not to notice, or does not acknowledge it. It will give her more freedom to pursue her other interests (you included) and that will make her happy. Of course, seeing her big, manly, stud in a sparkling clean kitchen wearing little more than tea towel on his shoulder, and an apron about his waist wouldn't hurt either.
