My Relationship and the Secret

Thank You Rhonda for your work to write the book. It’s inspiring. I have learned very precious things.

It happened when I was a man of 30. I lived in Jakarta. My friends, who were as old as I was, had been married but I had never had a girlfriend. I had never been kissed, touched, nor hugged passionately. I felt that I was trapped in loneliness without romantic relationship and loneliness became my comfort zone.

I had many experiences in prospecting women and rejection was just like my lunch meal. One day, in 2006, I felt the pain in my heart. I felt that the woman, whom I loved, did not treat me as a friend nor as a lover. She did not respect me. My mind was painted black. I was just tired to be rejected and hopeless.

However, I was semi-logic person. I believed that I could find the way-out of that problem. Even if it was difficult to forget her, I tried harder. My bad experience made me conclude that I could not rely on the luck, given from heaven. I thought that I should create conditions for my romantic relationship. I tried to practice the law of 80-20, that from 100% prospects, 80% of them would reject and 20% would accept. I read the dating tips to develop my skills. Then, I started to be active in social websites, such as, friendster, tagged.com, hi5.com beside joining in some community events. But, it did not really work. I talked to myself that I might have been born to be alone. However, I wondered that the problem might be in me.

In December 2007, I spent my Christmas Holiday in Jogjakarta, a city of culture in Indonesia, I visited my old friend, Aditya, who was my younger brother in a Pencak Silat martial art organization. We shared many stories of our life. He opened my mind when he recommended me to read The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and told me some perspective about Law of Attraction. Wow, perhaps my mind attract the information about that book.

Three days latter, in Jakarta, I bought the book and DVD of The Secret. Thank You Rhonda for your work to write the book. It's inspiring. I learned very precious things - Law of Attraction, visualization, gratitude.

That day, I made decision to change my perspective. I should express deepest gratitude to God for everything everyday. I learned to feel happiness inside and expand the happiness. I practiced the affirmation, visualization and good self-image building. I set the picture of Japanese actress, Oda Asami, smiling at me as background of my PC desktop. I put some pics of sweet smiling girls at my vision board. At night, before sleep, and in the morning before office, I prayed to God and visualized romantic relationship and felt as if it had been realized. Do you know, the first effect that I got? I was happy and smiled.

God works in mysterious way in the universe to give us the gift. God gives us water and we should prepare the cup. That's the act of receiving. To realize my will, I should prepare may self to receive the gift; I should prepare the media and condition so the universe would find the shortest way for realization. Beside practicing The Secret, I was still active to expand my relations in online and off-line community and I had dating with some women.

I had never celebrated Valentine Day. I used to hate that day, chocolate, heart, pink color - everything related to love and relationships. Honestly, I did not really expect that I can meet someone special and celebrate Valentine Day because I thought the universe would not work so fast for me. But, a week before Valentine Day, I got message from mixed Javanese - Portuguese beautiful women. I got her number and, when we met in a Café, we matched; we just felt that we had been friends for long time. And, in Valentine Day, we had second date and our relationship goes on.
