Dating can be an expensive way to get to know someone or spend time with the one you love. Here are some ideas that won't leave your purse or wallet empty.
Go for a walk to together. There are many beautiful sights to see anytime of the year. If there aren't a lot of safe places in the neighborhood to walk, then try a park or mall.
Go to see an early movie. They are usually much cheaper during the day than during the evening, even on weekends sometimes.
Check for events and activities happening at local colleges. Usually they are free or cost very little. This usually includes plays or cultural events.
Do “dinner and a movie” at home. Making dinner at home and renting a movie or watching a good movie on television will be cheaper than going out to a restaurant and going to a theater.
Search for coupons to use. Using coupons can often save money too. Look for them online or in the Sunday newspaper.
If you're an animal lover, visit a local animal shelter. The animals will enjoy the attention and it doesn't cost anything to see them.
Play games at home. Some good ideas (if you already have them at home) are card games, board games, and computer games.
Visit local bars on nights when they offer drink specials. Drinks can be served a lot cheaper during the middle of the week sometimes.
Take turns reading from a book. Just make sure it interests both of you.
