If you are the type who goes online to find dates, you know that you never browse through those who have no photos. Right? Since that's true, you know you'll need to show your face too. It's the only way anyone knows the answer to a few questions they may have about you.
- Oh, I see. He isn't as ugly as I believed he would be.
- Oh no, she won't do. She seems to be too fat, and/or flat for me.
- Oh yes, I can see myself dating him.
So you see, photos can be a great way to say, “Hey, I just might be a great date.” Still, there are a few rules you should follow if you don't want to attract the wrong date for you.
DON'T LIE ONLINE:
It isn't nice to lie about who you are to those trusting souls who believe the photo is truly you. Don't post a handsome model's photo where yours should be, because you see, if you go on that date eventually, it will be hard to convince her that you are who you pretended to be.
DON'T LIE ABOUT YOUR AGE BY USING AN OLD PHOTO
That's a big mistake. If you pretend to be younger than you are, then how will you explain your sudden lack of hair, later on? Don't be ashamed to admit your age, by posting a recent photo. Be who you are, and if you've gone a little bald, it could be that you'll attract a date who gets turned on by men who are bald.
PLEASE, DON'T TRY TO BE PROVOCATIVE
Believe it or not, you can rest assured that no one online wants to see your private parts. If you reveal everything too soon, what will that say about you? Besides, you might not be as endowed as you may think. That goes for women too, by the way. A woman should never reveal her boobs before the first date.
DON'T POST A PHOTO OF YOU WITH YOUR EX, OR ANYONE ELSE OF THE OPPOSITE SEX
Why would you think anyone wants to picture themselves with you and your ex? Try to find a photo of you, alone and on your own. That's the way to say, “I'm available.” Otherwise, the people who see you standing there, arm and arm with someone else might thing you're a swinger who likes to date two at the same time. They do have other sites for that type.
DON'T USE A BAD PHOTOGRAPH
I don't know how many times I've seen, with my own eyes, a guy who looks as if he recently died online, so don't post a photo that makes you look pale or mortally wounded.
Try not to use a photo of you that makes you appear to be a criminal who has recently been released from jail.
Be careful of what you are wearing too. You don't want to post a photo of you in a tiny tank top, whether you are male or female. This might make you appear to be the wild type, which might be fine for you, but remember, you want to be careful too. If you attract someone who is wilder than you, then it means you've presented the wrong impression. It's not a wise thing to do, so hide the tattoos and take that ring out of your nose before you pose.

Pick a photo that is recent, decent and expresses best, the best of you and maybe you will find the perfect match soon.
