When a person gets drunk, the truth usually tends to come out. If your friend has recently said something while she was drunk that was a little bit alarming, you probably want to tell her what she said. Should you really make the decision to open your mouth about it, though? Here are some of the different factors to think about before deciding to tell your friend what she said while drunk.
Did Your Friend Make a Comment That Offended You?
If your friend made a comment that really offended you, there is a good chance that you will probably want to let her know about it. However, it really depends on what it is. For example, if she told you what she really thinks of you, there is no doubt that this is going to be a comment which is going to remain in your mind for awhile. In this case, you will probably want to tell your friend what she said while she was drunk. On the other hand, if she made a minor comment about how she really did not like the shirt that you were wearing that night, it is better to just let it go because it is not even worth your time.
Did Your Friend Say Something That Will Embarrass Her?
When your friend was drunk, did she say something that is really going to embarrass her once she finds out about it? If so, it is a good idea to make sure that you tell her about it. Examples of this would be if your friend told a whole entire crowd of people that she once farted during sexual intercourse. This, or something equally embarrassing, is going to be something that anyone who was sober is probably going to remember for quite some time. In order to prepare your friend, it is a good idea to let her know.
Did Your Friend Offend Anyone Else While She Was Drunk?
There is a good possibility that your friend may have offended someone else while she was drunk. Whether she is familiar with the person or not, there is a possibility that what she said hurt someone else. If you know that your friend said something while she was drunk which really offended someone else, it may be a good idea to just let her know. Otherwise, there is a chance that she may find out in the future and be unprepared for it.
These are just a few of the many different factors that you will want to think about if you are trying to decide whether or not to tell a friend what she said while she was drunk. The general rule of thumb is to remember that while there are no doubt some instances in which you will want to tell your friend what she said while she was drunk, it is often a better idea to keep your mouth shut about it. Unless she said something to either offend someone or embarrass herself, it is best to just keep it to yourself.
