Ten Steps to Lasting Love

How to make that special love last a lifetime.

If you have found your perfect person, and you want to keep them hopefully for the rest of your life then you need to remember the ten basic rules of love. No one ever said love was easy to find or keep, or even that the first love was the one that would last, it's all a matter of give and take and if you remember the ten rules of love it is no guarantee, but it will make the journey a lot better and hopefully your love will last for life.

  1. Think about the person you love, and all that they need. Put them first and they will respond by returning the thoughtful way you are with them.
  2. Always try to have belief in your partners abilities and dreams share them together as you walk along the path of love, never put them down or make them feel stupid. Treat them as you want to be treated and this will build a bond that gets stronger everyday.
  3. Love means that you give everything of yourself that you can freely and unconditionally. Love never stays if you are selfish with your thoughts and actions.
  4. Most lasting love affairs started as friends. We can all think of someone that we were physically attracted too, but attraction fades, and friendship lingers on and builds a strong foundation for love. You have to like each other before you can love.
  5. Don't smother your love, let it breath and grow. No one likes to feel smothered, they still need time to themselves, and it does not mean they don't love you they just need to breath. And in fact they will love you more.
  6. Always try to have physical contact, just a touch will bring you closer, brush your hand over their hair or grab their hand, little things mean a lot.
  7. Talk to your love not just about problems in your life, but how you feel what you hope for how they hope their new dream will go, share lots of chat about anything and everything, the power of speech brings you closer together and you both know what the other is thinking.
  8. Once you have found your special partner and you are building a loving relationship, be committed to them in everyway, think of their needs, their wants their future everything.
  9. Everyone wants some passion in their relationship, but a lot of people think it is only the physical passion. This is wrong passion is the whole relationship, the cosy nights just sharing thought, the caring nature you show each other and the commitment that you have built into your relationship.
  10. The most important thing in your new relationship is TRUST, if you cannot trust them then you cannot love them, trust is the basic foundation that we all build our relationships on. Without Trust you have no foundation and the relationship is bound to fail sooner or later.

If you remember the golden rules you stand a great chance of building a long lasting love affair that will last a lifetime, and be just as great in twenty years as is was the day that you fell in love.
