What exactly is meant by "networking?" When such a term is used within the cyber, dating/matchmaking ultimately mating medium?
What exactly do they (the subscribers) mean when they say "I am here for "networking" ?
I for one know what the term networking represents in relation to the business world. But for the life of me, what does it entail when utilized within the cyber walls of an online dating website?
The definition of networking does not appear to be applicable to this medium, at least in my book. But then again I could be wrong, or possibly have "missed it " when and if, it became a new "trendy" definition for this type of human interrelation.
Gay in the 30's, 40's and 50's meant "happy go lucky." Today it denotes a sexual preference.
So who knows? Maybe I actually did miss something!!
I would appreciate it tremendously if those that have joined and subscribed to this type of medium for the sake of "networking" drop me a quick line and clear the air.
And while they're at it. Clear these also.
"I seek a "workout partner."
Or one of my favorites: "I seek to "enhance" my circle of friends.
I am sorry, but my cynical mind envisions this as follows:
They have joined, utilized some of their valuable time to put together an essay/profile, paid a fee and subscribed to this "online dating website" because they seek one or both of two things: love and/or lust!
But heck! thats just probably my "cynical" friends and I that think that way.
Or maybe there is something "new" and "trendy" out there weve missed...
