Until Death Do Us Part

Marriage is a bond meant to last a lifetime.

I heard not too long ago about a proposed new law. It didn't get passed. (Probably because it's downright ridiculous) but this is what it proposed in essence, that "marriages would last five years and at the end of five years the people could renew it or go their separate ways". How ridiculous is that?

Marriage is a bond meant to last a lifetime. If you're going to marry someone just to have the marriage abolished five years into it, what would be the point to begin with? What happened to society these days? Come on people, who comes up with these new laws?

Marriage is a covenant between two people. A partnership (or at least it is meant to be) Have some Love, compassion, natural affection. Marriage is not supposed to be "till our interests see fit" It is meant to be a committed, faithful, loving bond.

"What God puts together, let no man tear asunder."

Marriage is a sacred ordinance and should not be taken lightly.
