Jehovah’s Witness

This religion emerged from a Bible Student Movement, founded by Charles Taze Russell in the late 19th century.

Founded by Charles Taze Russell also known as the "great paraphraser,” died in 1916 and then took over by Charles Rutherford who did everything possible to obliterate the name of Russell by stopping the sale of Russell"s books. Rutherford is the one responsible for changing the name to Jehovah's Witness; he died in 1942 and was able to convince his followers that every one of them was a final messenger of the Lord.

Their Doctrine

  1. Holy Trinity

Jehovah's Witness or JW say that the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, of the Godhead was for the Dark Ages and has no place in our modern day teachings (Studies in the Scriptures Vol. 5, p. 166). But the word of God says in Gen. 1:26 “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness,” the pronoun “us” and “our” denotes plurality and the Lord speaks plural to Himself, in Matthew 3:16-17 the Trinity appeared in one.
  2. The Deity of Christ

JW teaches that Jesus existed as spirit being before He was made flesh and dwelt among men; that he was chief of the angels and next to the Father, and was known also as archangel. JW teaches that Jesus is the highest of all the Jehovah's creation - but He is not God (Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 5, p. 84). They even claim that Jesus and Satan were brothers (Creation p. 18; 53). Concerning the Deity of Christ, the Bible says that “In the beginning was the Word (logos),” this affirms to the external existence of the Lord and Savior Jesus; “and Word was with God,” tells us of His distinct personality; “the Word was God,” now this clearly speaks of His Deity.
  3. The Blood Atonement of Christ

JW said that Jesus could only redeem one life by His death and that His ransom of His shed blood does not guarantee everlasting life to any man but only somewhat like a second chance
  4. Christ Resurrection

JW says that Jesus no longer exists in human form (Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 2, p 107) and that Christ is forever dead. But in Luke 24:36-40 it proves that Christ rose from the dead. He did not rise as a sprit being but as a man and that to these days He is still alive otherwise there would be no basic cornerstone of the Christian faith.
  5. The Return of Christ

JW tells us that we should not expect Christ to come again as human being with flesh, blood and body (The Truth Shall Make You Free, p. 245). In fact they believed that Christ came back already in 1914 (The Truth Shall Make You Free, p. 300). If we were to believe this religion then it is nonsense to wait for Christ the Savior.
  6. The Sinner's Punishment

JW does not believe in hell and even told their followers that it is a God dishonoring doctrine (Let God be True, p. 79).

There is hell in the Bible and this can be found in the following chapters and verses: Psalm 9:17; Proverbs 5:5; Mark 9:43-48 and at the Book of Matthew 3:12, 5:29-30.

The JW even said that the government is Satan's organization and that is the reason why they do not participate in its social gatherings.
