Religion
The main religion in ancient China during the Qin and the Han dynasties was Taoism. Taoist ceremonies were held for worship and religious purposes. In Taoism they believe in opposites like “there would be no love without hate” or “there would be no light without dark.” Taoism became one of the three great religions in China. Taoism gained its popularity during the Jin dynasty which was before the Han or the Qin dynasties.
Art and Architecture
One of the greatest architectural achievements was the Great Wall of China. It was built to repel nomadic invaders, the xiongnu. The wall was built in sections. The wall was started during the Qin dynasty and finished during the Han dynasty.
Social Classes
There were many different social classes in ancient China during the Qin and the Han dynasties. The social classes went in this order: peasants, merchants, landlords, and then the emperor.
Job Specification
The roles of people in ancient china during the Qin and the Han dynasties differed greatly from one social class to another. The peasants farmed and made up most of the poor lower class. Merchants sold different goods and made up most of the middle class. Landlords owned land and rented it out to peasants who used the land to farm their crops. The landowners were generally in the upper to middle class. The emperor is the ruler of all the land. He makes most if not all of the decisions regarding the country.
