Was the Bible Altered? 10 Pieces of Evidence You Must See

Was the bible every altered? According to Islamic Scholars, it was altered. Now we are presented with Archeological evidences that may finally end this dispute. Check out the following 10 evidences that can clearly show the truth!

10 Evidences that the New Testament Bible was not altered

The Muslim cleric teach that the Jews and the Christians are the people of the Book and that the Bible is not teaching the same things as the Koran. The reason for the differences between the Bible and the Koran, according to the Islamic Scholars, is that the Bible was altered some time after Jesus (100s AD) and before the coming of Mohammed (600s AD). Thus, Muslims teach that the Christians and the Jews have lost their way and are corrupted. Thus I seek to provide the 10 evidences that prove the Islamic claims to the wrong.

The Following 5 books are Greek manuscripts of the New Testament found between the time of Jesus and Mohammed that documented the Bible. These show that the Muslim claims of the altered Bible is wrong and unfounded.

  1. Codex Vaticanus (AD 325-350) - this is preserved in the Vatican library and contains almost the entire Bible
  2. Codex Sinaiticus (AD 350) - This contains all of the New Testament and half of the Old Testament and is safely kept in the British Museum
  3. Codes Alexandrinus (AD 400) - Also kept in the British Museum and contains the while Bible
  4. Codes Ephraemi (400s AD) - kept in the National Library (Bibliotheque Nationale) in Paris. It contains all of the New Testament except 2nd Thessalonians and 2nd John.
  5. Codes Bezae (AD 450) - This is kept in the Cambridge University Library and it preserves the gospels in both Greek and Latin

There are also been some findings that are even older and written at the time of Jesus's death. The most important discovery of New Testament manuscripts is called:

  1. The Bodmer Papyrus 11 - dated to be between 150-200 AD and contains all of the New Testament books
  2. The Chester Beatty Papyri (200 AD) - Kept in Dublin University but owned in part by Michigan University, these manuscripts contain large portions of the New Testament

These has also been findings of the New Testament that is not written in Greek. They are commonly written in either Syriac or Latin and these translations have been made roughly around 150 AD. There were also other manuscripts and translations written around the world by various monks, bishops and apostles in various other languages.

  1. The Codex Corbiensis (400-500 AD) - contains all the four gospels still intact word for word
  2. The Coptic and Egyptian scripts - these are believed to have been translation around 200 AD and contains the New Testament
  3. The Palestinian Syriac - dated to be around 350 AD, it is recorded by a disciple of the Apostle John into Syriac for Phioloxenas the bishop of Mabug

And these are just the tip of the iceberg. These are numerous other codexes and manuscripts that clearly show the existence of the New Testament before Mohammed was even born. They all clearly reveal that the doctrines of our present Gospels have not been altered or changed and none of these gospels make any references (known or unknown) to Mohammed.

Thus the claim of Islamic Scholars and Clerics that the bible was altered or the Christians are corrupted are totally unfounded and archeologically ignorant. Nor is the claim that Mohammed was send to continue the work of Christ valid because none of these manuscripts or the original Gospels (and the present Bible) even mention Mohammed. Thus these teachings are yet another controversial and contradictory teaching found in the world of Islam.

What kind of "proof" is a codex written 300 years after the "event".
I would love to see how our present times are remembered after 300 years.
To even contemplate that there is no revision of a story before it is committed to history is foolish.
Remember, history is written by the victors. It doesnt make it true.

Please read Misquoting Jesus by Bart Eahrman.
It will point out where and when the changes were made. Using, I may add the very codices you present as evidence.

Not only is having a codex not "proof" one of the major claims of Islam is that the Bible was translated from Aramaic (the language of Jesus) into Greek and dozens of other languages. Also that New Testament contradicts itself so many times from Gospel to Gospel that that only explanation is that the Bible was altered. The Bible is a mix and match of stories and every Gospel was written to express ideas to a different groups of people and the writers of the Gospels who wrote them down for the first time decades after Jesus died that each story varies in the detail. Muslims say that Koran is not altered is because it is still read in its original language unaltered by translation. Muslims don't claim that Muhammad was originally in the Bible they say that when the Bible was originally written down it was decades after the fact and that it was not copied down right away like the Koran was when Muhammad had his revelations. So before you try to spit hate speech and ignorant propaganda learn your facts.

First of all, regarding the comments.

The Bible was not copied down right away,it was written down about 50 years after Jesus died. The Koran was written down AFTER the death of Mohammad by his followers almost 100 years later. After the revisions and editing of the Koran by the Umayids and the Abbasid caliphates, the modern day Koran emerged - almost 400 years later.

So Sean, learn your facts. Koran was NOT written down right away... like the Bible.

the others i am not sure of, you need to visit the British Museum site and search through it or check a university site.

There are no Biblical manuscripts found in Aramaic, (most are in Greek and Latin) and as many people know a lot of things can get lost in translation. So Muhammad and his followers knew of Biblical texts and Jesus\' teachings but when Muhammad had his revelations they made sure not to allow it to be translated and contaminate the teachings of Muhammad. So back to the main article Muslim\'s do not say that Muhammad should be in the Bible because they say it was written down before Muhammad was alive. Also Robert remember something called the First Council of Nicaea where the Bible was altered multiple times and had dozens of books taken out and destroyed. So maybe the Koran was not written down right away but neither was the Bible.

No i am not arguing that the Bible was written down right away, its historically proof that the Bible was written down by witnesses of Jesus or by his disciples almost within 50-100 years of his death.

The Koran was written down much later and without much thought. Numerous editing of the Koran took place under the first few Caliphs and under the 2 ruling secular Caliphates.

This can be seen by looking at a Bible. In the Bible, you can see that it is ordered by sections, chronology, subject and theme. Koran is not ordered at all. It is jumbled and confusing because of individual Suras are all over the place. The closest that any person has ever come to trying to make sense of any order in the Koran was with the explanation that the Koran orders most of the Suras according to length.

boys and girls i can end this debate right here.

The German scholar Salomon Reinach said it the best:

"From the literary point of view, the Koran has little merit. Declamation, repetition, puerility, a lack of logic and coherence strike the unprepared reader at every turn. it is humiliating to the human intellect to think that this mediocre literature has been the subject of innumerable commentaries and that millions of men are still wasting time in absorbing it."

So everybody must belief the bible has not change.

Then randomly take 3 Bibles nowadays , RSV,KJV & Roman Duouy,
Does these three are the same Bibles? Which one supersedes the other Bibles ?

Since every sect will naturally think their Bible is definite.
Then, That elusive bible might be lost to the oblivion.
