Have you ever wondered what was wrong in your life? Something felt missing and things have not gone right for quite some time. You're at am impasse and just don't know what to do. And you don't know who to talk to.
You can't say anything to friends or family because you'll hear it again with much emphasis on the negatives, and it seems to grow each time you hear it again. When you talk with your minister, he tells you to put it in the hands of The Lord.
So what do you do? Open your Bible and start reading. Begin with Genesis to refresh your memory of how it all began and the main reason why man is the way he is today. If you know the beginning, you'll understand the end. Read a little every chance you get. Pass the listings of who was born to whom and just read the story of God. You will be amazed at the peace that comes to you the more you read. And you won't even have time to worry about those things you have already forgotten!
Read the New World Edition of the Bible so you can understand what is being said. If you have questions, compare one version with another. Don't take anybody's opinion of what you don't understand. Look it up yourself so you can express your own feelings. Online you have Bible.com and Watchtower.com and many other sources. In the end, they are all basically saying the same things and are very readable. If you can't read it for some reason or another, they have talking versions that will read it to you.
Compare what the Bible says to what your life is right now. You will learn that everything that is happening in the world today has been foretold by prophets and apostles who wrote of Jesus Christ who spoke the words of his father, God or Jehovah.
To you, God's name is in accordance with your beliefs from childhood. He says his name is Jehovah but newer versions of the bible have deleted that name for varying reasons. So you call him whatever you believe his name is and read on. It's your beliefs that matter and once you believe without trepidation, you will become a “witness” of his power and love. All he wants are true witnesses that he exists and is The Almighty On High. There was no God before him and will never be after him.
Reading the bible is to comfort yourself and to not let the bad things that are happening in our world today discourage you. This is the only life you will know as long as you are mortal. When God raises those from the dead who believed in Him, they will have eternal life on earth as it is in Heaven, eternally thereafter. But right now, you have the opportunity to get your life in order so you can be chosen by God when he returns.
All humans have things in their life they are not proud of and wish they could erase or get completely out of their minds. It's easy to forget, but some times, it is not easy to forgive ourselves for some of the things we have done. God forgives us our sins if we repent and live life the way he wishes us to live. And that's easy enough if we know what he expects of us. Let me show you that God has not predetermined your life because he gave you “free will” to make your life what you want it to be. Some times, however, we make choices that contradict what we really wanted and we can end up on the wrong side of the track, so to speak. Look at this:
“How unloving and unjust Jehovah God would be if before we were born, he predetermined the course we would take and then held us responsible for our actions! He does not do this, for “God is love,” and “all his ways are justice.” Having given us freedom of choice, he did not at the same time "determine from eternity whom he would save and whom he would damn," as believers in predestination assert. Freedom of choice precludes predestination.
The Bible clearly shows that the choices we make will alter our destiny. For example, God appeals to wrongdoers, saying: “Turn back, please, every one from his bad way and from the badness of your dealings . . . that I may not cause calamity to you.” This appeal would be pointless if God had already fixed each individual's destiny. Moreover, God's Word states: “Repent, therefore, and turn around so as to get your sins blotted out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the person of Jehovah.” Acts 3:19 Why would Jehovah ask people to repent and turn around if he knew beforehand that they could do absolutely nothing to change their destiny?”
Now if that doesn't encourage you to change your life, what will? You have the power to do whatever is necessary to live as God wishes you to live. You can clean up your past sins by repenting and turning your life over to God. He will protect you when you believe in him.
Make your choice. Change your life. Believe in the Almighty. Save yourself. Encourage your children to understand the words of The Almighty. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Read his words and understand within yourself the meaning of them. If you still don't understand from your readings, go to Watchtower.com and ask questions in the search box and your answer will be given in bible verses that are explained fully. You need not wonder anymore!
Love to you!
