Historical novels have become the in books to read. Of course they are my favorite. And yes of course I have a few of the favorite writers of these books as well. I must say though that my favorite novels are those that are in series. They continue the stories with the other members of the books. Or sometimes they bring in new members but the old ones are still around. This way you get to keep up with what is still going on with them.
The love scenes in the historical novels are not like novels that are written in current or future times. What do I mean? Well, in historical novels most of the women are still virgins, although sometimes they don't stay that way, they usually marry the man that has taken their virginity. Perhaps this is the actual part that attracts most of the women that read these novels as it shows true to me romance. Where in historical novels you find more of the romancing that goes on between two people where in today's novels that romance is not always there.
I write historical novels myself and have enjoyed it immensely. Not only does it allow me to stay at home, it gives me the opportunity to show my own passions in my novels. And historical novels give me the freedom to release the feeling I have about living in the wrong time. Writing has become my passion and it is a lot of fun as well.
If you have not looked at the best sellers list lately, you will learn that Historical romance novels are hitting the list on a regular basis and their careers are growing because of it.
In a lot of the novels that I have read, and also the ones that I write, you will find that the woman is a true heroine. Which is probably another reason that women are so drawn to these kinds of books. And most if not all of them, are written in or from the view point of a woman.
