Best and Worst Cars

Which cars are the best and which are the worst when deciding which to drive.

Best

The 2008 Toyota Prius is the most fuel efficient car on the road today getting 48 MPG in the city and 45 on the highway. In May of 2008 Prius sales topped 1 million worldwide. The Prius was the first car to run the air conditioner independently from the gasoline engine.

The 2008 Honda Civic gets 40 MPG in the city and 45 on the highway. The civic just surpassed the F-150 in June 2008 to become the number 1 selling car in the United States. In 2007 the IIHS awarded the civic as the second best small car in overall crashworthiness.

The German made 2009 Volkswagon Jetta gets an estimated 30MPG in the city and 41 on the highway. The Jetta as many different names including Atlantic, Bora, City Jetta, GLI Vento and Sagitar. Volkswagon has approved using up to 5% biofuel in their new Jetta, and many people have converted there Jetta's to run on Vegetable oil.

Worst

The 2008 Hummer H3 4Wd drive gets an estimated 14 MPG in the city and 18 on the highway. The H3 is able to ford through 24 inches of water at 5 MPH and 16 inches at 20 MPH. Its 3.7L engine turns out 242 HP at 4600 RPM.

The 2008 Porsche 911 GT2 gets an estimated 16 MPG in the city and 23 on the highway. Unlike most cars the engine is located in the back of the car. The Porsche 911 was voted #2 on the Automobile magazines 100 coolest cars.

The Italian made 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago gets an estimated 8 MPG in the city and 13 on the highway. The Lamborghini Murcielago ranks as the least efficient car for both city and highway driving. The 6.5-liter V12 engine allows the car to go 0 to 62 MPH in just 3.3 seconds.

Thanks for a very informative read. I think I'll take the Prius over the Lambo. I would rather pass gas stations than pull over at every one of them!

Great collection and info. I have a Ford Explorer, but I am saving for a new VW.
