The Battle of the Beasts

This article compares the three leading luxury car manufacturers from Europe. I have selected the BMW X5, Audi Q7 and the Mercedes M Class.

1. Brand Name

   BMW has a brand name known throughout the world and is known for the quality and pure driving pleasure; as stated in the company slogan, The Ultimate Driving Pleasure. Many fumble over what BMW actually stands for: Bavarian Motor Works. Audi have a brand name but is not usually comparative to BMW and Mercedes. Things are changing now as the Q7 is a big hit in Europe and slowly making it's debut internationally.
   Mercedes is highly known internationally and is BMW's main competition. Mercedes are known for perfection and the very famous, CLK race car. Mercedes are also known for created some of the fastest cars in the world.
   

2. The Drive: Look and Feel

   The drive of the 2008 X5 is undoubtedly the best of the three cars being reviewed. The xDrive makes it a pleasure to drive aswell. The Mercedes on the other hand is a great car to drive but not as good as the BMW. To start the Mercedes you have go through a very complicated process which turned me off.

3. The Exterior

   The exterior of the X5 is the only thing that lets it down in comparison to the other cars. The X5 does not have a sporty feel to it on the exterior, (unless you opt for the M Sports package) instead it has a ‘grunt' sort of feeling. It does not look bad but it does not look the best of the three. It comes second place, the Audi in first and ‘lucky' last , the Mercedes. The Audi Q7 wins the exterior bringing us an utterly sexy design which is also extremely aerodynamic. The Mercedes is similar to the BMW because both of them look extremely bulky but do not drive like it.

4. Interior

   The best interior of them all goes to the X5 because of the small things that are included in it, such as the larger side arm rest... The list could go on. The thing I love about the Q7's interior is the beautiful stitching which really stands out. The Mercedes does not have a great interior and lacks the small touches the X5 and to a lesser extent the Q7.

5. Conclusion

   The best car out of the three is undoubtedly; the X5 with the only downside being the exterior (Came second). I realized that at the end of the day your inside the car, driving it.
