I'm going to start with one of the most fantastic and versatile products on the market...Olive Oil. If you don't have it, run out and buy it.
Olive Oil
Not only is it the best skin and hair lotion as well as the safest and wisest product you can use on a baby, but it's the best oil you can eat.
As a skin product, simply smooth it on as you come out of the bath or shower. Use it on your face for a clean glowing moisturiser.
Use it on your hair before shampooing, and a tiny bit after for a healthy scalp. When it comes to baby, it's absolutely perfect. Firstly, unlike all those baby products made with mineral oil, Olive Oil is edible. This means that a baby can virtually drink it without risk. Secondly, it really does seem to give that baby a beautiful complexion.
Put a few drops in baby's bath and avoid soaps. Always slather the baby in oil after bath, especially the nether regions, to protect the skin. Olive Oil is a must have.
Corn Starch
Corn Starch is better than inedible talc. Use Corn starch, pure corn starch as powder. Again, no fear if baby gets a little in her mouth; corn starch is food. Use corn starch on yourself, it holds moisture to your skin.
Baking Soda
This is a great deodorant. You can use it straight or mixed with corn starch. It is an ideal product for use under arm, in your shoes, anywhere you wish to cut odor. You can also use it to brush your teeth. Baking soda is a good whitener.
Salt
If you have flaky dry skin, especially on your legs, salt is what you want. Wet the skin, sprinkle on the salt, rub it with a wash cloth. It removes the skin flakes better than commercial products, and is far cheaper.
