Christmas Shopping Made Easy

Christmas shopping tips to make your Holidays go a little smoother.

Christmas shopping through out the year is the best way to get your shopping done early.

Many people did not like it when Wal-Mart discontinued their Lay-A-Way. For those that were using it regular, particularly the ones using it every Christmas, find themselves searching for other stores to shop that accepts lay-a-ways.

The best way to get around this, is to shop all year long!

Immediately after Christmas, the stores begin marking items down anywhere from 50% - 90% off. Just because it’s only a few days after Christmas, does not make it too soon to start purchasing for the next Christmas.

Each time you go shopping, check for sales. Try to purchase at least 1 item each month. Depending on how many friends and family you purchase items for, you could have your shopping completed by November.

I would definitely suggest that you have it completed by the first week of December. This is when most others begin to get out shopping, and we all know how terrible traffic and check out lines are in December!

A couple other ideas:

Purchase extra gifts - There are times when a relative or friend may show up with an unexpected guest.

Have plenty batteries of all sizes - You never know when you will receive a gift that required batteries, and you do not want to fight the Christmas crowd (even up until New Years Day) trying to purchase batteries.

Thanks for another great Christmas article. This is something I normally do every year. Just sometimes my senior moments kick in, and I forget where I put stuff.

Oh I have learned to buy an extra gift or two every year. Sometimes we have family members from out of town that say they are not coming, but change their mind at the last minute. And its true you dont wanna be out on Christmas eve trying to buy a gift!

I do this too. I collect sale stuff all through the year for x-mas. It is really the only way someone on a modest budget can afford to get a good gift for everyone.

All my family know that they are going to get a candle from me every year. I collect them from Dirt Cheap- a salvage store in the South- all through the year. They have Target and drug store stuff nearly year round and what I would spend 20.00 on there, I can get at dirt cheap for $4.00-8.00.

Well I guess I have senior moments to, and I am not that old. One year I found a gift under my bed that I had forgot about buying. It was under there for 2 to 3 years.

We keep size AA and AAA all year round because thats what we always need for remotes and the kids toys. But some years we do get in a pickle when we dont have other sizes.

Haley, I been there. I was doing spring cleaning, and found several I had hidden from myself. It comes in handy though to have these gifts on hand, just have to remember where they are.
