The second generation Apple iPod Shuffle came out in 2006. The Shuffle is designed as a clip rather than the traditional style of iPods. Apple now calls it "the world's smallest MP3 player". It uses flash memory rather than a hard drive unlike some of its ‘family'. This iPod transfer data through an included dock which connects the PC to the iPod via the headphone jack. The Shuffle cannot play music from a music video. Apple also redesigned their headphones so on the packet of the iPod Shuffle, if the words are in lime-green then the original headphones are included and if the words are gray then the redesigned headphones are included in the box. The iPod is available in a variety of different colours. The memory sizes are: 1GB and 2GB.
